Mrs. Georgine Pickerill 1882-1934
Mrs. Georgine Anderson Pickerill was born in Avoca on October 5, 1882, and passed away at the home of her sister, Mrs. Julius Maasen, Wednesday, December 12, aged 52 years, 2 months, and 7 days.
The funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Blust Funeral Home. Rev. Earl Remaly of the First congregational church will officiate. Interment in the Avoca cemetery.
Georgine Andersen was the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Anderson. She grew to womanhood in this vicinity. She was a member of the Circle of the Presbyterian church of Avoca, also a member of the local chapter of Legion Auxiliary.Mrs. Pickerill was a lady who made many friends. She always took a great interest in the affairs of her church and the good things of the community. To know Mrs. Pickerill was to love her, for her many good qualities and fine character. Her death was a severe blow to her large circle of friends, who did not know her sickness until they heard of her death.
She leaves to mourn their loss, one son, Eugene of Omaha and one sister Mrs. Julius Maassen of Avoca and three brothers, Chris Anderson of Moorhead and John and Carl of Avoca.
