Althea Franz 1912-1923

Althea Henrietta Franz, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Franz, Jr., was born near Avoca, Iowa, October 24, 1912 and died in the early morning of February 3, 1923, aged ten years, three months and ten days. Funeral services were held from the Second Congregational Church of Avoca, Monday, February 5 at two o’clock pm with Rev A. Lemkau officiating.

Little Althea was a devoted little Christian. Just before she passed away she, with a last effort, repeated the Lord’s Prayer, Althea had had poor health all her life, but she is at rest now.

She leaves to mourn her loss her parents and a little brother, her grandparents, Mr. Henry Franz Sr and Mr. and Mrs. Leaders of the Silver Creek neighborhood and a large number of other relatives.

In compliance with her dying request funeral services were held at the Second congregational church with her pastor, Rev. Lemkau officiating after which she was laid to rest in the Avoca cemetery.

The sorrowing ones have the sympathy of their many friends.
