Mrs. Ed Wineland

Ida Alba Judd, daughter of J. B. and Agnes Judd, was born at Brasher Falls, St. Lawrence county, New York, on July 24, 1859, and passed away at her home southeast of Avoca Saturday, June 25 at 11 o’ clock, aged 67 years, 11 months, and one day. (June 25, 1927)

The funeral services were held Monday, June 27 at her late home at two o’clock. Rev. Joseph M. Fleming officiating.

Ida Alba Judd moved with her parents to Wisconsin when she was three years of age, where the family lived one year, then moving to Minnesota where they lived seven years. From Minnesota they moved to Homestead, O’ Biren county, Iowa. When a young girl she left home and went to Ohio where she attended school. After finishing her school work she accepted a position as teacher in the rural schools near Oakland, where she taught for a number of years.
On March 14, 1882, she ws united in marriage to Ed Wineland. To this union two children were born, Glenn Wineland and Mrs. Rose Schaaf.
Mrs. Wineland became a member of Prudence Rebekah lodge No 66 of Avoca and also affiliated with the First Congregational Church of Avoca. In former years she was a very active worker in both church and lodge.

For the past several months Mrs. Wineland has been a patient sufferer, realizing that God in Heaven doeth all things well. Her deeds of love and mercy, her kind, motherly actions to all, and the hospitality shown her friends at her home, shalt long be remembered. Her friends are richer for having known her, and the world is sweeter for her having lived in it.
She leaves to mourn her going, her husband, and one son, Glenn, and one daughter, Mrs. Rose Schaaf, one brother, Charles Judd of Moorehead, Iowa, three grandchildren and many others who shall rise up and call her blessed, for she being dead, yet speaketh.

Mrs. Lillian Schmidt, Mrs. Earl Watson, Mr. Arthur Schmidt, and Mr. Earl Watson sang two very touching duets. Those attending the funeral services from out of town were: Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Shoff and Mr. and Mrs. George Wilson of Moorhead. Mrs. Peter Johnson, Mrs. and Mrs. Harry Roseberry, Mr. and Mrs. John Kuhl, Mrs. Crete Skinner, and Mr. and Mrs. Wicks of Council Bluffs.
