William W. Cheyne, 56, former resident of Council Bluffs, died in Moline, Ill., Thursday.

Cheyne has been affiliated with the International Harvester company since 1910. Beginning in Council Bluffs in 1921, hr became manager of the transfer house here and five years later was promoted to the Moline transfer house. After serving there 12 years, he made contact man for all the company's territory west of the Mississippi river. The last three years he had spent in Moline as manager.

He is survived by his widow, Claire; two daughters, Catherine and Mary Helen both of Moline; two brothers, Allison B. of Council Bluffs and Charlesof Watsonville, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. George Lemen of Council Bluffs, Mrs. Arnold Wahlstrom Salia, CAlif., and Mrs. Smith of Tulari, Calif.
