George L. Miller, 75, 126 Benton street, retired grocer, died at a local hospital Tuesday evening after a illness of six months.
Miller was born in Council Bluffs in 1871 and with an uncle, Mathew Bartel, established a pioneer grocery store in 1896 at 100 West Broadway. He retired from the grocery business in 1932.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Grocer and Butcher association and a member of St. Patrick's church.
Julia, his widow, is the only survivor.
Been Belfred funeral home is in charge of funeral arrangements.
