Robert F. Geise, age 82, lifetime resident of Minden, Iowa, passed away October 12, 2008, at Mercy Hospital.

Robert was born July 9, 1926, in rural Minden, Iowa to the late Fred C. and Ruth (Spetman) Geise. He graduated from Underwood, Iowa High School in 1943, and attended Iowa State University for 1 year. Robert served his country in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Coolbaugh DE-217 from 1944-1946 during WWII. He married Marian Sieck on September 5, 1947, in Council Bluffs. To this union three children were born. Robert was a farmer and cattle producer his entire life in Pottawattamie County and owned and operated Geise Distributing for 30 years. He was a member of Neola Presbyterian Church; 4-H leader for 30 years; member of the West Pott. Fair Board; County Extension Counselor and belonged to many livestock organizations.

Robert is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marian Sieck; daughters, Rhonda Ross and husband Greg, Cheri Geise all of Minden; son, Roger Geise of Omaha; grandchildren, James Ross and wife Nancy, Janet Rosas and husband Jason, Kevin Ross and wife Sara, Cory and Bryan Geise; great grandchildren, Jill, Justin, Josie and Jonathan Rosas.

Visitation with the family, Wednesday, 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Funeral service, Thursday, 11:00 a.m. at the mortuary with Rev. Dean Sparr officiating. Interment Cedar Lawn Cemetery with military rites tendered by American Legion Post #2. A lunch will follow at Neola Presbyterian Church. Memorials to 4-H Building Fund or Neola Presbyterian Church.
