In Memory: Mabel A. Husz

Mabel Alvina (Goos) Husz, 104, of Council Bluffs died December 26 at Risen Son Christian Village.

She was born April 26, 1898 in Keg Creek Township near Mineola to Carl and Cora (Rath) Goos. She lived most of her life in the Treynor area, and had resided at Risen Son since 1990. She was a member of Zion Congregational Church I Treynor.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry A. Husz, on May 30, 1990. They were married September 21, 1921.

Survivors include two daughters, Lois L. Chambers of Treynor and Ada D. Johnson of Council Bluffs; six grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren and two great-great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family was held Sunday from 2 to 4 P.M. at Cutler-O’Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Funeral service was held Monday at 2 P.M. at Zion Congregational Church in Treynor with the Rev. Alan Hardy officiating. Burial was at Zion Congregational Cemetery in Treynor following by a lunch at the church.

Memorials may be offered to Zion Congregational Church, the Treynor Community Center or Hospice Preferred Choice.
