Delores Weber Rethmeier died on March 1, 1988 at the age of 62. Cause of death was: Metastic adenocarcinoma of pancreas. Other conditions: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Source: Pottawattamie County, Iowa - Record of Deaths Book 62, page 238

The following Obituary was copied from The Dunlap Reporter dated March 10, 1988:

Delores H. Rethmeier, 62, of 2613 Ave. H., Council Bluffs, died Tuesday, March 1, 1988 at her home.

A native of Dunlap, she had been a Council Bluffs resident for 40 years.

She was a member of Queen of the Apostles Church, Altar Society, Catholic Daughters of America, St. Anthony Court No. 330 and the Legion of Mary.

She was a 1944 graduate of St. Joseph’s High School in Dunlap.

She and her husband, James, had been married 40 years.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters Mrs. Gary (Pat) Spanel of Omaha and Mrs. Dennis (Barb) McElderry of Council Bluffs; son Jim of Council Bluffs; sisters Mildred Heller and JoAnn Davie, both of Dunlap, and Lucille Kendall of Omaha; brothers Raymond and Robert Weber, both of Dunlap; eight grandchildren.

Funeral mass was at 10 a.m. Friday, March 4, at Queen of Apostles Church with Rev. Larry Hoffmann officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Dunlap.
