Minden: In Memory: Harold E. Dollen

Harold E. Dollen, 76, of Council Bluffs died July 3 at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.

He was born August 16, 1925, in Council Bluffs to Elmer A. and Ester M. (McCauley) Dollen. He previously lived in Minden, moving to Council
Bluffs in 1948. He was a 1944 graduate of Minden High School.

He served with the 10th Mountain Division of the U.S. Army in Italy during World War II. He was a service manager for a local Ford dealership, retiring in 1987 after 40 years service. He was a member of First Christian Church. He was a volunteer at Risen Son Christian Village where he was known as the "the Popcorn Man"

Mr. Dollen and his wife Leona A. (Clough), were married December 31, 1948.

Survivors in addition to his wife include one son, Mitchell H. Dollen and wife, Lisa of Omaha; two brothers, Gerald Dollen of Council Bluffs
and James Drake and wife , Norma, of Omaha; three grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family was held held at Cutler-O'Neill Chapel. the funeral was held Friday at 10:30 A.M. at First Christian Church with Rich Milliken, President of Nebraska Christian College, officiating.

Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery, with military taps conducted by bugler Chris Franks, followed by a luncheon at the church.

Memorials may be offered to First Christian Church in Council Bluffs or Nebraska Christian College in Norfolk, Nebraska.
