George A. Reeves, age 83, of Council Bluffs, passed away April 17, 2008, at his home, from complications of Parkinson's disease.

George was born December 28, 1924, in Omaha, Neb., to the late Jesse and Kathryn (Landman) Reeves. He was a self-employed home builder for over 60 years. George was a member of New Life Fellowship Church, where he was a founding member and elder. He married Mary Lou Cornell on December 10, 1980.

George was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph P. and John A. Reeves.

He is survived by his wife, of 27 years, Mary Lou Reeves, of Council Bluffs; sons, Douglas Reeves and wife Cindy, of Garden Grove, Calif., Michael Reeves and wife Jayne, of Kingsport, Tenn.; numerous grandchildren; several great grandchildren; stepdaughters, Mary E. Anderson and husband David, Kris Tilley and husband Larry, all of Council Bluffs; stepson, John Dygert and wife Birgit, of Fort Benning, Ga.; sister, Rose Marie Miller, of Tucson, Ariz.; brother, M. Leo Reeves and wife Kathleen, of Omaha.

Visitation with the family, Sunday, 6-8 p.m., at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Funeral service, Monday, 1 p.m., at New Life Fellowship Church, 1211 North 24th St., Rev. David Leggett, Pastor, will officiate. Interment, Memorial Park Cemetery, with a lunch following at the church.
