Dean W. Dahlke, 87 years, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, passed away April 5, 2008 at Woodlands Rehab Center.

Born August 25, 1920 in rural Manson, Iowa to the late George and Neva (Weir) Dahlke. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He formerly resided in Des Moines, Iowa and in Council Bluffs for the past 45 years. He did clerical work for Phillips Petroleum for 30 years, and maintenance work for Regal Towers for 10 years. He was a member of St. Marks United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Bernice B. (Beard) Dahlke, of Council Bluffs; sons, Michael Dahlke and wife Kris, of Houston, Texas, Scott Dahlke and wife Maria, of Roswell, N.M., Jack Dahlke and wife Sherry, of Lincoln, Neb., Bradley Dahlke and wife Penny, of Council Bluffs; daughters, Linda and husband Wayne Hicks, of Council Bluffs, Nancy Neal, of San Antonio, Texas; 14 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be Monday 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Tuesday 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Robert Abbott will officiate. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with graveside military honors provided by American Legion Post No. 2.

Memorials are suggested to St. Marks United Methodist Church.
