Ada Marie Bork (1926-2008)

Ada Marie "Tic" Ticnor Bork, age 81, passed away March 28, 2008.

She was born on September 6, 1926 to Myrtle and John Ticnor in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1944. During her high school years she was very active in Job's Daughters. She attended Iowa State Teachers College and began working for Northwestern Bell. While in Cedar Falls during college, she met and later married Ned L. Bork, Jr. in 1953. They had one son, Ned "Larry" Bork, now of Topeka, Kan.

She is survived by her son and his wife Marci and four grandchildren, Alexander, of Lawrence, Kan., Austin, Katrina and Keaton Bork, all of Topeka. Ada was a wonderful and doting grandmother.

She is also survived by one niece, Deann Over and husband Oscar, of Council Bluffs, and two great nieces, Kim Egner and her husband, Alan and their children, Kaitlyn and Brett, all of Council Bluffs, Deb Siebels and her husband Jason and their children, Chelsey and Seth, all of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and one great nephew, Bill Over, currently serving in the United States Marine Corps.

Ada is preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Anna Lee Esancy.

Ada was a dedicated member of North Side Christian Church in Omaha. During her retirement, after 1983, she was very active in the Northwestern Bell Pioneers and continued to be a strong advocate for the retirees until her death. Known for her lively sense of humor and zest for life, she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Visitation for Ada will be Monday from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at North Side Christian Church. Celebration of Ada's life will be on Tuesday 1:00 p.m., also at North Side Christian Church. Pastor Nancy Brink celebrant. Luncheon will follow services. Family has suggested in lieu of flowers all memorials to the North Side Christian Church 5555 Larimore Ave, Omaha, Neb., 68104. Private graveside service will be held on Tuesday 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery, Council Bluffs. Family will meet at Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. for cortege to Memorial Park.
