In Memory: Terry John Ring

Terry John Ring, 43, of Minden died suddenly August 17, 2003 at his home.

He was born September 23, 1959 in Council Bluffs, one of nine children in the family of Jacob and Betty Masker Ring.

He attended grade school at St. Joseph's in Neola and high school at Tri-Center, graduating with the class of 1978. Following graduation, Terry worked for Zimmerman Sales and Service.

He married Anne Brandes on December 22, 1979 in Neola. They were the parents of two daughters, Susie and Jamie.

Terry began working for the Pottawattamie County Roads Department in 1980 and was currently assistant foreman. He also worked ass a mechanic for Armstrong's Station for a number of years. While they lived inside the city limits, Terry served a term on the Minden City Council.

Terry enjoyed boating, snowmobiling and hunting and loved having friends visit their home. He was very kind-hearted and tried to help out when people were in need.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jacob; an infant sister, Barbara; and two brothers, Gary as an infant and Phillip.

Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Anne, of Minden; daughters Susie of Carter Lake and Jamie of Minden; mother Betty and her husband Thomas Driver of Minden; brothers and sisters, Sharon and her husband Darrell Kissel of Shelby, Bonnie and her husband Joe Wredt of Council Bluffs, Kathy and her husband Gary Gravert of Venus, Texas, Larry Ring and his wife Luana of Neola, and Mary Ann and her husband Fred Thomas of Neola; a special uncle, Kent Engel of Roselle, Illinois; a special aunt, Becky Tindall of Omaha; other relatives and many friends.

Visitation with the family was held Tuesday evening at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Neola. The funeral Mass was to be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Raphael Masabakhwa as celebrant.

Burial was to be at the Minden Cemetery, with fellowship at the Minden Community Building following the interment.
