In Memory: Paul E. Nicolai

Funeral for Paul Edward Nicolai, 83, of Treynor was held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Vieth Funeral Home in Oakland, with the Rev. Jim Little officiating. Burial was in Oakhill Cemetery in Hancock.

Mr. Nicolai died May 5 at Jennie Edmundson Memorial Hospital.

He was born September 22, 1916 in Minden to Henry P. and Augusta Grobe Nicolai. He graduated from Hancock High School and farmed in the Hancock area for over 50 years.

He was a member of the Western Iowa American Quarter Horse Association.

On October 12, 1935, he married Wilma E. Albers.

Survivors in addition to his wife include two daughters, Pauline Kelsay and husband, Delbert, of Burlington and Ann Vorthmann and husband, Roger, of McClelland and five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
