Agnes Paddock Vanderpool

Agnes Paddock Vanderpool, 95, of Riverside, Calif., died Dec. 10 at the home of her daughter in Riverside.

She was born March 20, 1907, in Des Moines to Martha and Lee Roy Bailey. She lived most of her married life in Council Bluffs. She previously lived in Diamond City, Ark., and Louisville, Colo., then relocated to live with her daughter in Riverside in August 2002. She attended the RLDS church for 30 years. She was a member of the Daughters of the Nile Matanah No. 136 in Little Rock, Ark. She was first president of SOOB 382 of Council Bluffs, past WHP of the White Shriner of Jero, past matron of OES of Harrison Chapter No. 25 in Harrison, Ark., and Electra No. 29 in Bellefonte, Ark., past worthy matron of Chapter No. 66, Order of Eastern Star, in LaFayette, Colo. She was a member of Branson Chapter No. 199 in Branson, Mo., past noble grand of Rebekah No. 3 in Council Bluffs, and past president of Brush & Pallet Club of Council Bluffs.

Mrs. Vanderpool was preceded in death by her first husband, Ross Paddock, on Dec. 16, 1966, and her second husband, Clyde Vanderpool, on Jan. 26, 1989. She was also preceded in death by three sons, Herb, Larry and Ross Jr.

Survivors include two daughters, Verna Williams of Riverside, Calif., and Lois Fisher of Pueblo West, Colo.; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. at McCurdy Funeral Home. The funeral will be Monday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery.
