Etta Mae Johnson, age 79, Council Bluffs, passed away December 8, 2007, at her home.

Etta Mae was born in Atlantic, Iowa, on February 16, 1928, to Eugene and Flossie Lewis Gordon. Etta Mae moved to Council Bluffs in 1960.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Blanchard Johnson, Sr.; great grandson, Melvyn Kalili III, son-in-law, Melvyn Kalili Sr.; sisters, Lois Gordon, and Betty Ferguson.

Etta Mae leaves behind to mourn, daughters, Carmen Kalili of Bellevue, Teela Mickles of Omaha, Danita Wetherspoon of Walnut, Calif.; sons, Blanchard Johnson, Jr. and wife, Elizabeth, Blaine Johnson, all Council Bluffs, 14 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild, sisters, Imogene Preston of Omaha, Vera Hunnigan of Ft. Worth, Texas; brothers; Gilbert Gordon of Council Bluffs, Robert Gordon and wife, Daisy of Omaha.

Christian Wake service, Wednesday 6:30 p.m. followed by visitation until 8:30 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial, Thursday 10:30 a.m., Queen of the Apostles Church, Father Paul Monahan, celebrant. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery with luncheon to follow at the church.

Family suggest memorials to Compassion in Action (Ministry to Women and Children in Prison).
