Daniel J. Corbett, 68, 608 First Ave., died Tuesday at a local hospital after a brief illiness.

He was a locomotive engineer for the Union Pacific Railroad, with which he had been associated 44 years.

Mr. Corbett was a native of Neola and had resided in Council Bluffs 44 years. He was a member of St. Francis Church and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.

Survivors include: sister, Mrs. Margaret Garrison of Council Bluffs; four nieces and a nephew.

Requiem Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Francis Church, the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Thomas J. Costin will be celebrant at this church. Interment will be at Walnut Hill Cemetery.

Rosary recitation will be at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Beem-Belford Chapel.
