Joseph C. Salvo, age 81, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, passed away November 22, 2007.

Joe was born in Council Bluffs on September 3, 1926, to Jasper and Antoninia Caruso Salvo. Joe served his country in the US Army during WWII, and worked for the Burlington Northern as a truck driver for 30 years. Joe and Nadine O'Hara were married on June 12, 1949. Memberships included the Teamsters, VFW and Joe was an avid bowler participating in many bowling leagues.

He is preceded in death by his parents and four sisters.

Survivors include wife, Nadine; daughters, Debbie Salvo, of Des Moines, Carmella Yoder, of Webster City, Denise Cook and husband Gary, of Jackson, Mo., Mary Johnson, of Council Bluffs; sons, Joe Jr., of Omaha, Mark, Bill and wife Grace, all Council Bluffs, Doug and wife Jennifer, of Missouri Valley; 15 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; brother, Carl and wife Jo, of Council Bluffs; nieces and nephews.

Rosary Recitation Tuesday 6:30 p.m. followed by visitation until 8:30 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Wood- ring Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday 10:00 a.m. at Queen Of Apostles Church. Father Dan Kirby, Celebrant. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post 2. Luncheon to follow at church.
