Monnie, as she was known to her family and friends, died peacefully on November 5, 2007, after a long challenge with Alzheimers.

She was a person who opened her door and her heart to everyone who were fortunate enough to come across her path. Born on July 9, 1926, in Underwood, Iowa, she lived in several locations throughout Iowa before settling in Council Bluffs.

Monica was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Patten; her son, Russell Patten and her grandson, Jeffrey Patten.

She is survived by sons, Randolph Patten, Council Buffs, Iowa, and Miles Patten, Elk Grove, Calif., as well as 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Memorial services for the family will be privately held.

Memorials are suggested to Alzheimer's Association or Queen Of Apostles Catholic Church, Council Bluffs, Iowa.
