Ruth M. Heckerman, age 89, of Council Bluffs, passed away October 23, 2007.

She was born in Chicago, Illinois on February 18, 1918, and has lived in Council Bluffs since 1949. Ruth worked as a teachers aid in the Council Bluffs Community School District for 20 years retiring in 2001. Survivors include son, James Heckerman and his wife, Bambi, of Council Bluffs, daughter, Joanie Schneider and her husband, Terry, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; grandchildren, Jamie, Megan, Connor, and Reilly.

Visitation with family Sunday 6:00-7:00 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 7:00 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Chaplain Frank Fast, Hospice with Heart and son, James Heckerman will conduct services.

Memorials to Hospice with Heart preferred. Ruth will be cremated and inurnment will take place at a later date.
