Barbara Jane Eilers, age 88, of Hastings, Minn., passed away October 1, 2007, at Augustana Health Care Center in Hastings.

Barbara was born January 7, 1919, to the late Lyman D. and Margaret E. (Stout) Schryver in Liscomb, Iowa. She retired as a clerk for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad. She served for 37 years at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa, and she helped to organize the Hospital Auxiliary and was on the Hospital's Board of Directors. She was the President of Women's Christian Association; a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood and a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Council Bluffs. She lived in Lincoln, Iowa, Cedar Falls, Iowa, Dubuque, Iowa, Council Bluffs and Hastings, Minn. She married Charles W. Eilers on May 29, 1940, in Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Eilers and son, Bruce D. Eilers.

Barbara is survived by sons, Delos (Karen) Eilers, James (Susan) Eilers and David Eilers; daughter-in-law, Brenda Eilers; grandchildren, Kathryn Eilers (Scott Smallidge); Elizabeth (Dennis) Cronin; Margaret Eilers (Jonathan Butwinick); Aaron (Melissa) Eilers; Rebecca Eilers; Robert (Amanda) Eilers; Laura Eilers; Benjamin Eilers; great grandchildren, Marinna and Kyra Smallidge; Nicole, Matthew and AJ Cronin; Elijah Butwinick; Emma Eilers; brother, Jerry (Wilda) Schryver.

Funeral service are Friday (10/5) 11:00 a.m. at Woodbury United Methodist Church, 7465 Steepleview Rd., Woodbury, MN, 55125, with visitation 1 hour prior to services at church. Pastor Christina Koppes will be officiating. Graveside service is Saturday (10/6) 12:30 p.m. at Badger Hill Cemetery in Gladbrook, Iowa.
