Joseph H. Beam, age 88, of Council Bluffs, passed away August 26th, 2007, at his home.

Born September 22, 1918, in Council Bluffs, to the late Daniel and Julia E. (Sloan) Beam, he resided in this area his lifetime. He was a Yardman for Omaha Stock Yards, retiring in 1981. He was a member of Lighthouse Temple Church. He and his wife, Elvera E. (Magnussen) Beam, were married April 21, 1979.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter.

Survivors include his wife, Elvera; sons, Ed (Connie) Beam, Plattsmouth, Neb., Joe (Janice) Beam, Sierra Vista, Ariz.; daughters, Kathy Fitzgerald, Griswold, Iowa, Susan (Doug) Logan, Omaha, Neb., Paula (Ray) Williams, Council Bluffs; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be Thursday, 6-8 p.m., at the Lighthouse Temple Church, 1430 Ave E. Funeral services will be held Friday, 11 a.m., at the church, Rev. Don Bates, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Neola, Iowa, followed by a luncheon at the church.

Memorials are suggested to the Lighthouse Temple Church.
