Harvey Edwin O'Brien, age 65, passed away on April 29, 2007, in Colorado Springs, Colo., after a 25 year battle with M.S.

He was born August 8, 1941, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Harvey enjoyed a dual life career, working for both the Union Pacific Railroad as an electrician and later as a Council Bluffs police officer, where he was a K-9 handler. His passions in life were his grandchildren, genealogy and chess.

Harvey was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Ruby (Kirkwood) O'Brien and his sister, Ruth E. Browning.

Harvey is survived by his wife, Diane; children, Christina, Michelle and Robert O'Brien; stepchildren, Tammy Hayman, Alicia Marasco, Michael Judd, Rosemary Arndt and Linda Arndt; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, all of Colorado Springs, Colo.; brother, Richard O'Brien, of Addison, Texas; a host of nieces and nephews. We will all miss him.

Graveside service will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 11, 2007 at Crescent Cemetery in Crescent, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
