ALLEGED HOLDUP OF A WALNUT
MAN NEAR AVOCA

Special to the Daily Nonpareil
Avoca, May 13 – A ripple of excitement was created by the report of a hold-up on Tuesday evening of a young man names Anderson from Walnut, at the west river bridge. It is alleged that Thomas and William Larimore assaulted the unsuspecting farmer, and with a show of revolvers caused him to surrender his watch-chain, knife, etc. The alleged victim promptly took himself to the mayor and swore out a warrant for their arrest. Mr. Stroble, armed with a warrant and a shotgun, started in pursuit and overtook the men near Shelby, arrested them, and lodged them in jail the same evening. They were given a hearing the next morning, and being unable to give bail will await the action of the grand jury in charge of Mr. Long.
