Milton B. Pitt
Senator from Crawford, Harrison and Monona counties, was born June 2, 1876, on a farm in Pottawattamie county, Iowa. His father, Sidney Pitt, was born in Indiana, February 12, 1847. He was a member of the 17th Kentucky Cavalry in the war of the rebellion. His mother, Patience E. Pitt, was born in Pottawattamie county, Iowa, on December 29, 1849. Senator Pitt attended district school and Woodbine Normal. Taught school several terms. Elected township clerk two terms and three terms as county treasurer of Harrison county, Iowa. Was elected representative from Harrison county in the thirty-sixth and Thirty-seventh general assembly. Was elected speaker of the House of Representatives of the thirty-seventh general assembly. Elected senator in 1918. He is a farmer. A republican in politics.
