Peter Weis

Peter Weis, grocer, Council Bluffs, was born in Prussia in 1834. He came to America in 1855, settling in Wisconsin. In 1859, he came to this State. In 1866, after returning from a two years' trip through Colorado, he opened up in business in a little log building near where the Ogden House stands. He built his present building in 1878. He employs four clerks, and carries in $8,000 stock, which includes a line of hardware and agricultural implements. Annual sales, $30,000. Mr. Weis was married in Mills County, this State, in 1860. Hhe has one child by adoption.
