Jacob Leutzinger, baker, Council Bluffs, was born in Switzerland in 1840. His parents' family, which consisted of five children, came to this country in 1847. They went to Southern Illinois, settling at a point twenty-five miles east of St. Louis, Mo. Our subject was engaged in the bakery business in the latter city from 1856 to 1859, when he came to Council Bluffs April 1 of that year. He is the leading baker of Council Bluffs, and is sole proprietor of the Empire Bakery of this city. He was married in 1870 to Anna Hiltonberg, of this city. They have two children - Anna, aged eleven, and Matilda, who is six years old.
