Lucy C. Arbuthnot
born about 1837

Mrs. L. C. Arbuthnot, milliner, Council Bluffs, was born in Pittsburgh, Penn., and lived there until her marriage. Her husband, George B. Arbuthnot, died in 1865. He was a cotton broker in the South, and lost his property in the rebellion. They had one boy - George W. Arbuthnot, aged twenty-two years, who is now in Omaha. Mrs. Arbuthnot employs twelve girls in her millinery and dressmaking establishment. She came to Council Bluffs in 1865, from New Orleans, where her husband formerly lived.
