Marjorie Barbara Ford, daughter of Frederick and Barbara (Schloss) Cook of Rhodes, Iowa, passed away January 2, 2014 at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines, Iowa surrounded by family.

Marge graduated from Baxter High School. She retired from Meredith Corporation after 21 years of service. Although recently Marge resided in Urbandale, she spent most of her adult life as a Southsider.

Marge was an avid Hawkeye fan, enjoyed doing crosswords, and put together countless jigsaw puzzles. She was a caring person whose home was open to anyone needing a place to stay.

Marge was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ivan Ford; and siblings Christina, Leroy, Leonard, Melvin, Paul, Leota, and Luetta.

She is survived by her sister, Helen Shepard; three children, Barb (John), Anna (Fred) and Dan (Karen); five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway. Visitation will begin at 10: a.m. and a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. with burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens following.
