Norm, 94, passed December 13, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center.

Norman Elmer Schleisman was born August 27, 1917 in Lidderdale, Iowa. He attended and graduated from Carroll High School and graduated with high honors in academics and athletics. He lived in Des Moines most of his life. Norman was a sales engineer for Saxe-Freeman Company Laundry and Dry Cleaning. He had also worked for Thompson Hayward Chemical Company, and then worked ten years as Assistant Linen Supervisor with Mercy Medical Center.

Norman was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Nicolene.

Norman is remembered by his son, Reggie Schleisman; two grandchildren: Jason and Kellie; six great-grandchildren; his sisters: Marcelene Brake and Eva Porter; niece, Anita Cardamon; and several great-nieces and nephews.

Burial of Norman's cremated remains will be in Glendale Cemetery at a later date.
