Lawrence "Larry" Sego, 74, of Story City formerly Des Moines and of Fort Dodge, passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2011, at the Bethany Manor in Story City following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer 's disease.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, October 20, at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral in Fort Dodge with the Rev. Greg Trueblood, Pastor of West Des Moines officiating. Burial will be in Mineral Ridge Cemetery near Lehigh. Visitation will be on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of the services.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce of Des Moines; son, Kevin (Betty) of TX; daughters, Terrianne (Mike) of West Des Moines; Kathy Jo (Mel) of Rockwell City; Traci of Jewell; Sara of Des Moines; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and other extended family.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Rosemary (Bass) Sego; step-dad, Mark Sharping.
Larry was born on January 13, 1937, in Frazier, Iowa. He worked as a maintenance man for various apartment complexes.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
