Lisa Dianne Getman, 44, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 10, 2011, in Des Moines, IA.
Lisa was born on December 22, 1966, to Jerry and Becky Getman. She lived in Des Moines during her formative years. Lisa graduated from Belvedere High School in Belvedere, New Jersey in 1985. She attended the Chaminade University in Hawaii, and graduated from the University of Washington.
Her entire life, Lisa had a big heart and a generous, empathetic spirit. She believed in helping people in need. She loved life and was adventurous. She spent an entire year backpacking through Africa and Asia.
Those who knew Lisa best will miss her big smile, her sense of humor and her zest for life.
Lisa is survived by her mother, Becky Parks Getman, Bellingham, WA; father and stepmother, Jerry and Susan (Anderson) Getman, Seattle, WA; husband, Lenny Schrag, Las Vegas, NV; step-son, Skyler Schrag, Las Vegas, NV; brother, Brian Getman, Bellingham, WA; grandmother, Betty Parks Classen, Des Moines, IA; grandmother, Dorothy Savely Getman, Des Moines, IA; aunts and uncles, Cathleen Kallmeyer (Getman), Seattle, WA; Maureen (Getman) and Dan Wurst, Telford, PA; David Getman Jr., Des Moines; and several cousins, including Rob and Jennifer Kallmeyer of Seattle, WA; and Maggie Wurst of Telford, PA. Lisa was predeceased by her grandfathers, David Getman.,Sr. and Raymond Parks, both of Des Moines, IA.
The visitation will be held Friday, January 14, 2011, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Memorial services will on be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
