Rose Marie Swatta, 81, died Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at home from normal pressure Hydrocephalus.
Rose Marie was born in Des Moines on March 7, 1931, to John and Pauline (Kauzlarich) Swatta. After graduating from St. Joseph Academy, she worked at Employer's Mutual Casualty until her retirement in 1986.
Rose was devoted to her church and served for many years as the sacristan at Holy Trinity. She always enjoyed traveling, riding her bicycle, photography, and did beautiful needle work.
Rose Marie is survived by her sister, Patricia Willis of Urbandale, her brother, John L. Swatta of Indianola and other family and many special friends.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Monday, August 6, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, with burial to follow at Glendale Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Iles Funeral Homes-Westover Chapel, where a prayer service will be held at 7 p.m.

The family is very appreciative of the wonderful care provided by Iowa Hospice and would like to give special thanks to Velvet and Carrie.
