Virgil Gordon Hoisington, 85, passed away March 9, 2012 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. A Memorial Service will be held at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 13 at Our Lady of Peace Chapel at Bishop Drumm, 5921 Winwood Drive, Johnston.
Virgil was born October 24, 1926 in Spokane, WA to Raymond and Hazel Hoisington. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Virgil was employed as an accountant and retired in 1988 and moved to the Des Moines area in 2000 to be near family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara of 56 years; sons, Dr. Douglas Hoisington of West Des Moines and Dr. Gregory Hoisington of WA and six grandchildren, Nicholas, Christopher, Megan, Emily, Aaron and Carly Hoisington.
