Judy Chivers passed away August 8, 2012, on her 61st birthday. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 13th at 10 a.m. at Merle Hay Funeral Home, 4400 Merle Hay Rd, Des Moines. A visitation will be held, Sunday, August 12, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Judy was an avid Iowa State fan and also loved the Cubs. She enjoyed gardening, especially tending to her roses. She entered many contests and was lucky to win a few big items.
Judy was great at staying in touch with all friends, new and old. Her family would like to honor her memory by reminding all women to be screened for ovarian cancer.
Her memory will be treasured by her husband, Walter; children, Crystal (Nick) Wood and Brian Martin; grandchildren, Jason, Victoria, Hailey, and Katelynn; siblings, Sandy Herr, Jan Reed, and John Henning; and her father, John Henning. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Henning.
Memorials may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis organization.
