Paul, 75, passed away August 9. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 18 at Merle Hay Funeral Home with a memorial service at 11 a.m.
Wilbur Paul Blachley, son of Wilbur, Sr. and Winifred Maxine (Johns) Blachley, was born March 3, 1937 in Des Moines. Following graduation from East High School, he served in the U.S. Army. Paul retired from Firestone. He enjoyed cheering for the Iowa Hawkeyes and Iowa Cubs.
Paul is survived by his daughter, Heidi Blachley (Doug Recker) of Marion; grandchildren: Madison, Peyton and Nicholas Paul; his brother, Ronald (Linda) Blachley of Salt Lake City, UT; his wife, Elizabeth George; Liz's children: Dan (Nina), Bob (Jill) and Steve; and Liz's grandchildren: Gillian, Greysan, Danielle, Robbie, Alex and Parker.
