Dr. Calvin Dean Sours was born on May 7, 1919 in Floyd County, Iowa to Clifton Eugene and Vera Mabel (Bower) Sours. Calvin was lovingly united in marriage to Wanda C. Cooper, who died at the age of 101, on May 16, 2014. He worked his entire life as a Veterinarian, caring for animals with a kind and tender heart. Calvin proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1943 -1946. During WWII he served as a Captain. He died on May 20, 2012 at the age of 93 in Mason City, Iowa. Calvin’s urn was found in a backroom of administrators’ office who had failed to bury him at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery. Calvin had been neglected, however now he is no longer forgotten. He is home.
