Cecelia Ann Brown, age 78, passed away Monday, August 1, 2022 at her home in Des Moines, accompanied by family and friends throughout the day.

Cecelia was born July 27, 1944 in Temple, Texas to Walter and Mary (Safley) Harris. She enjoyed watching football, and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. She was talented at crocheting and donated countless crocheted blankets to babies in NICU wards. Her greatest joy was her family and she loved spending time with them above all else.

Cece was a true Texas spitfire with quick wit and a big heart. She saw the best in others and supported and protected those she loved fiercely. She had a very extensive list of friends that became extended family. She will be remembered fondly by so many.

She is survived by her children, David Doyle, Jean Ann Edwards (Brian Troxel), and William Edwards (Sarah); stepchildren, Robert Brown, Lori Brown-Bordman; grandchildren, Kenneth Doyle, Andrew Doyle, Michael Anzivino, David Anzivino, Kayla Tulk, Nick Welford, Tanner Edwards, Hailey Edwards, Delaney Mae Edwards, Raymond Garcia, and Anastacia Garcia; fifteen great-grandchildren; and her nieces and nephews.

Cecelia was preceded in death by her father, Walter Harris; mother, Mary Safley Harris; daughter, Teresa Garcia; and her siblings, Jean Stern and James Harris.

According to her wishes, cremation will occur and there will be no formal services held at this time.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the family for a future designation.
