Jamy (Jimmy) Somphome Bounyavouth, 33, of West Des Moines, Iowa, passed away in his home on Tuesday, July 5, 2022. Jimmy was born on November 25, 1988, in Nashville, Tennessee, but was raised in Storm Lake, IA. The son of Somboun and Thongkoun Bounyavouth.

Jimmy was known for being present - always there to lend a helping hand, welcome someone new, and maintain relationships. He valued friendships, and his knack for bringing people together was second to none.

Jimmy never knew a stranger that he couldn’t make friends with, nor would he ever let anyone feel out of place. His very presence and laughter lit up every room. He never missed a wedding, birthday, or a reason to celebrate. In fact, he was the true life of the party and was there to buy the very first round of drinks. He then would also help clean up at the end of the night.

His one-of-a-kind personality- and enthusiasm for pranks, unforgettable phrases, or ability to make each day count will always live on through his friends and family.

He was willing to do anything for his “brothers”. But it was his sisters who gave him his most cherished title: UNCLE. His love for his family was unbounded.

He is survived by his father, Somboun Bounyavouth (Thongme Phommasene), mother, Thongkoun Bounyavouth (Narong Noravong), sisters, Nina Bounyavouth, & Lamphay Bounyavouth-Stajcar (James) nieces, Phoenix Hoang, & Aria Stajcar, nephews, Porter Stajcar, & Reign Bounyavouth, and many other relatives and friends.

The celebration of life will be held at Puffs in Storm Lake, Iowa on Saturday, from 6:00 P.M. until close. Leave your sadness at the door and join us as we celebrate Jimmy and share some of the many outlandish memories that he made with everyone.
