Obituary
Adel, Iowa. On Sunday, July 3rd, 2022, John R. Noe died at the age of 89. John was born on February 19th, 1933 in Des Moines, IA to Jacob Roy and Margaret (Lang) Noe. A 1950 graduate of Adel High School, he received his Bachelor’s Degree from Iowa State University and Master’s Degree from Drake University. John taught Vocational Agriculture, Industrial Arts and High School Science at Waukee Community Schools for more than 30 years. In 1950 he was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout and served as an Assistant Scout Master in Adel. In 1957 he married Elise (Stoops) Noe of Dallas Center who also taught at Waukee Community Schools.

John was a long-time member of the First Christian Church in Adel serving in several leadership roles. He also served for many years as a board member of the Adel Public Library. In retirement, John enjoyed working as a volunteer at Living History Farms and at the local food pantry. When not working at either of those places, he could be found completing woodworking projects in his workshop.

John was preceded in death by his spouse Elise who died in 1991, his parents, and sister Gretchen (Noe) Williams. John is survived by his two children Lance (Debbie) Noe and Claudette (Kelvin) Sederburg and three grandchildren Morgan (Phillip) Wessels, Bryce (Amelia Richards) Sederburg and Caleb Noe. A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 10th, 2:00 - 4:30pm at the First Christian Church, Adel. A private family committal will occur at a later date.
