Bernadine “Bernie” Rullestad, 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on December 23rd, 2021. Bernie was born in Nevada, Iowa to Elmer “Boss” and Doris Williams. She resided in Urbandale for over 50 years with her devoted and loving husband of 63 years, Richard “Shorty” Rullestad. Bernie was a loving and adoring mother to Luanne, Lynette and Lisa. She was an amazing Grandmother to Melissa, Emily, Dillon, Zachary, Sara, Ryan, and Andrew. Great Grandmother to Austin, Sophia, Lincoln, Jaxson, Raelynn, and Hayven.

Bernie enjoyed spending time outdoors, gardening, boating on the pontoon, playing piano, crossword puzzles, and collecting seashells on Sanibel Island and Ft Myers Beach, Florida. Shorty and Bernie spent many date nights dining and dancing together. She enjoyed getting together with her “Lunch Bunch Ladies.” Above all, she enjoyed being with her family and friends. Bernie’s family thanks God for all of the wonderful years she was with us.

A Celebration of Life will be at Giovannetti Community Shelter House (8900 Douglas Ave. Urbandale, IA 50322) Friday, May 27th, 2022 at 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm.
