Raymond Kinsey Langland
(December 3, 1926 - February 21, 2008)

Raymond Kinsey "Ray" Langland, 81, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 21, 2008. Ray died at Iowa Lutheran Hospital with congestive heart failure.
Ray was born in Madrid, IA to Dr. Raymond and Minnie Langland on December 3, 1926. He graduated from Madrid High School and the University of Iowa. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Ray was a retired science teacher in the Des Moines Public Schools and was a long-time member of Staves United Methodist Church and The Gideons International. He especially loved fishing and flower gardening.
Ray is survived by his wife of 58 years, Gerry; two sons, Kurt (Martha) of Deer Park, WA and Gregory of Des Moines; three grandsons, Erik of Yuma, AZ, Brent (Martha) of Portland, OR and Joel of Deer Park, WA; and two brothers, Dr. Olaf (Gwen) of California and Leo (Barbara) of Arizona.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m., today at Iles Funeral Homes - Grandview Park Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday at Staves Memorial United Methodist Church E. 29th and Madison. Memorial contributions are being directed to Staves Church or The Gideons International.
