Carl Stephen Johnson, 63, passed away at home after a courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, November 5, 2011. He was born October 9, 1948, in Des Moines to Leland and Elsie (Robinson) Johnson.

He enjoyed fishing, outdoors and woodworking. He demonstrated a life of repentance toward God and faith in Jesus Christ.

Stephen is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Candi; Children, Angela (Jimmy) Dotoli, Julian (Jasmine), Che (Nikkol), Jesse, Thaddeus "Pookie" (Allison), and Stephanie Johnson; and grandchildren, Jade, Jemiah, Jalen, Jaden, and Emery, one brother and four sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bobby; and sister, Janice.

Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, November 10, 2011 at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave. Visitation will be held 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at the funeral home.
