Michael James Gilmore, Sr., 58, was born March 22, 1953 in Des Moines, the son of Charles and Virginia (Furry) Gilmore. He passed away Sunday, October 30, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center.

Michael is survived by his children, Michael Gilmore, Jr., Benjamin “Buzz” Gilmore, Rickie Gilmore and Jeremy Wilson Gilmore; siblings, Brian Gilmore, Theresa Sharp and Sharon Sharp; many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and many special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings.

Michael was in the construction trade and dedicated many years of his life to it. He was an amazing father, grandfather and brother, and will be deeply missed by all of those who were blessed to have known him.

Cremation has occurred and a Celebration of Life gathering will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in loving memory of Michael. Hamilton’s Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
