Judy Hale, 77, passed away on December 16 at Edencrest at Sienna Hills in Ankeny. A memorial service is tentatively scheduled for Memorial Day weekend in Collins, Iowa.

Judy was born August 30, 1944 to Harold and Norene Hale of Collins. She graduated from Collins High School in 1962 and attended Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri and Northeast Missouri State Teachers College in Kirksville.

After college, Judy began a 40-year career working in a variety of administrative capacities for IMT Insurance in Des Moines.

Judy loved holidays. She collected holiday decor and every year made sure that all who knew her received magnets that she created for each holiday.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents and numerous aunts and uncles. Left to honor her memory are brothers Jim (Linda) Hale of Waukee and John (Terri) Hale of Ankeny as well as nieces Tracy (Mike) Jagim of Waukee; Kimberly Hales (Clint Gorges) of Brooklyn, New York; Kristen (Michael) Geisler of Norwalk; nephew Jeff Hale of Sussex, Wisconsin and many beloved great-nieces and nephews.

Her family expresses sincere thanks to Shanna Benedict, Healthcare Coordinator at Edencrest and numerous dedicated staff members for their extraordinary care of Judy. They treated her like family and helped her have a good life as well as a peaceful death.

Memorial gifts may be sent to the Collins Evergreen Cemetery, 121 1st Street, Collins IA 50055, to add benches for use during annual Memorial Day services.
