Rebecca Miles Wright, 76, wife of Michael Joseph Stofer for 47 years passed from this life on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at MercyOne Hospice Johnston in Johnston, following Pancreatic Cancer. Rebecca was born on March 1, 1945, in Kansas City, Kansas to Clifford and Edna Maxine (Leonard) Wright. Becky studied anthropology at Iowa State where she enjoyed field digs before an accident interrupted her studies. She was an anglophile who made multiple trips to Great Britain. Throughout her life, Becky worked at various places of employment including the post office. It was in later years she found her true compassion of working with dogs. She became a dog groomer and retired from grooming with Starch Pet Hospital.

She will be missed by all who knew her as well as her husband, Michael (Mike) of Des Moines, daughters, Lisa Modrick and Laura Miles; son, Robert Vranich, brothers, Mance Wright and John Wright, grandchildren Bill, Dana, Lindsay and Brandon, and great-grandchildren Skyler Grace, Ethan and Shannen.

Rebecca was preceded in death by her Father, Clifford Alvin Wright, and Mother, Edna Maxine Wright; Per Becky`s wishes, she has been cremated and no ceremonies are being held.

The family expresses their deepest gratitude to Johnston MercyOne Hospice team members for their compassionate caring for Becky in her final hours. Her devoted daughter, Laura, lovingly stayed by her side as she courageously let go of her life here.
