Ileana Lee Harding, 95, passed away at Mill Pond Care Center in Ankeny, Iowa on Friday, October 8, 2021.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 18, 2021 at First Baptist Church, 8250 NW 62nd Avenue, Johnston, Iowa with a visitation on Sunday, October 17, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, Iowa with private burial at the Masonic Cemetery.

Ileana, daughter of Hobart and Opal Burrell, was born March 7, 1926 in Gilman City, Missouri. Ileana graduated from Gilman City High School where she met her future husband Warren Harding. The two were married in 1944 and later moved to Des Moines, Iowa in 1956. They lived in the Des Moines area for the remainder of their lives. Ileana enjoyed her family, attending First Baptist Church as a regular member, playing golf, and traveling. She was also a member of P.E.O. a philanthropic organization where woman celebrate the advancement of woman.

Ileana is survived by her two sons, Alan (Judith) Harding and Brian (Fran) Harding; her seven wonderful grandchildren and eleven marvelous great-grandchildren.

Ileana was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Harding; her parents, Hobart and Opal Burrell; brother, Charles Burrell; daughter-in-law, Debra Harding; and her great-granddaughter, Camille Harding.

The family wishes to thank the care providers at Mill Pond Care Center in Ankeny, Iowa and Unity Point Hospice.
