Sharon Witmer, passed away January 4, 2012, at Karen Acres Care Center in Urbandale. She was born August 14, 1944, in Boone, IA, to Clarence and Belva Fairchild.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Edward; sons, Scott (Brenda) and Randy Witmer; grandchildren, Brittany and Christopher; sisters, Charlotte King, Betty Petefish, Linda Hummel, and Barbara (Kevin) Doyle; and brother, Robert Fairchild (Gloria). She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Jerry Fairchild.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 9, 2012, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines, with burial at Pine Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday, January 8, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Iowa Hospice in loving memory of Sharon.
