Ethel R. Moser, 95, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2012 at Wesley Acres where she resided for the last 10 years. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at the Chamberlain Manor Parlor at Wesley Acres. Private burial will be held at the Union Cemetery, rural Sumner, Iowa at a later date.

Ethel was born on June 3, 1916 in Sumner, Iowa, the daughter of Robert and Hattie Reif. She was united in marriage in June 1940 to Jerry Moser who preceded her in death on June 14, 1997. In 1955 the family moved to Des Moines. Ethel had worked for Preferred Risk Insurance Company, now Guide One, in the office. Ethel was a member of First United Methodist Church, Builders Sunday School Class, PEO Chapter JY and the Des Moines Women's Club. She loved vegetable gardening and trailering, was an excellent seamstress and baked the best cookies.

She is survived by her children, Mary (Paul) Burkett and Steve (Janice) Moser all of Urbandale; grandchildren, Mindy (Booker) Jarrett, Sam (Meredith) Burkett, Shannon Housley and Jeffrey Moser; two step grandsons, James (Cathy) Jones and Chris Jones; and ten great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church or Wesley Acres Good Samaritan Fund.
