Pastor Larry Olson, 72, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2012, at his home in Des Moines. He was born on November 17, 1939 in Whitehall, Montana to Alden and Beulah Olson, and grew up in Duluth, Minnesota.

Larry was instrumental in establishing several churches and recently served as the Associate Pastor at Freedom Church in Des Moines. He was a missionary and a commercial fisherman in Sand Point, Alaska. Larry was also an antique car collector.

Larry is survived by his wife, Karen; children, Brett Olson, Rachel Bradshaw, Dallas Ailes, Isaac Ailes, Sheila Olson, and Hillary Olson; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; his brother, Mark; as well as a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be 2:30 p.m., Thursday, February 2, 2012, at Freedom Church, 4101 E. 42nd Street in Des Moines.
